Daniel Jones returns to practice for the New York Giants
Daniel Jones returns to practice for the Giants Jones is trying to get clearance to return this weekend.
New York GiantsNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) has been cleared to return to practice this week, according to head coach Brian Daboll; However, he has not yet obtained contact permission.
Jones, who was injured on a sack two weeks ago against Miami, didn’t practice at all last week because he was dealing with symptoms related to his neck injury.
He was inactive last week against the Bills and is still questionable for this weekend against the Commanders, but his ability to practice is a step in the right direction.
Daboll said Jones, whose injury likely won’t end the season, will not participate in team practices today; Instead, he will perform individual exercises.
Other injury news: Right tackle Evan Neal (ankle), offensive tackle Matt PEart (ankle), center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) and wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson (knee/rest day) will not practice neither.
Daboll was asked if Schmitz’s injury could end the season, but he did not commit to that being the case.
Players expected to be limited include running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), cornerback Cor’Dale Flott (ankle) and guard Shane Lemieux (groin).
Defensive player D.J. Davidson (knee) is also expected to appear on the injury report as a full participant.
Separately, Daboll was unsure if Joshua Ezeudu’s toe injury would end the season.
Ezeeudu was placed on injured reserve this week.
