Jacob Ramsey has returned to first-team training ahead of Aston Villa’s trip to Tottenham on Sunday (2pm kick-off) The 22-year-old suffered a reoccurrence of the foot injury which kept him out for 10 weeks. As a result, Ramsey has only made three appearances off the bench in matches against Legia Warsaw, Chelsea and Brighton.
Prior to the international break, head coach Unai Emery said : “We are patient with them because they are progressing very well. The last step they didn’t do being available to play two or three weeks ago. Jacob Ramsey we stopped him as well. He had a small injury again. Now we have to do the steps ahead with him being clear that he is going to be coming back 100 per cent in the level we need.”
Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie has passed fit to face Aston Villa on Sunday.
The 20-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Italy squad due to a hamstring injury. There was doubts whether he would be available but he has since returned to training.
His fitness is much welcomed by boss Ange Postecoglou after his squad has been hit by severe injury problems recently. Both Micky van de Ven and James Maddison will be unavailable until 2024.
Manchester United will let Jadon Sancho leave in the January transfer window, four months after he was effectively exiled from the first team by manager Erik ten Hag after their public spat.
The 23-year-old was left out of the Red Devils squad against Arsenal back in early September, with the United boss claiming his ‘poor performances in training’ had caused him to not be picked. Sancho then blasted Ten Hag on social media, claiming the truth was not being told.
He wrote: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!
They will meet in north London on Sunday (2pm kick-off) with Villa looking for a win to leapfrog Spurs into fourth place.
As things stand, he hosts are predicted to be without nine players due to injury and suspension. However, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglu has been handed a boost by the return of Destiny Udogie.
