BREAKING NEWS : Broncos recruit’s cheeky Off-season Central dig

Sea Eagles owner Scott Penn has admitted the club’s 2023 campaign was under par before making a bold claim regarding Anthony S

eibold’s pre-season schedule.

Manly finished last season in 12th place, winning 11 games during Seibold’s first season in charge at the Brookvale-based club.

Penn was filmed adressing the playing squad in the Sea Eagles’ pre-season documentary ‘The Manly Way’ and he revealed he’d never seen a better program laid out by club staff.

“We are all excited to be back, we all felt like we left a little on the field last year,” Penn said.

“But the important things is Seibs (Seibold) has taken me through a lot of the planning for pre-season but more importantly the structure in terms of ease of understanding what’s going on.

“There’s a really clear accountability for everyone so I’ve been doing this for a while now, 20 years.

“This is the best I’ve seen, but now it is over to you guys but I do genuinely want you to know this is the best structure we’ve ever had at the club.

“This is about the future and we want to show people what we are about… we want to get people excited about where we are heading.”

The vision also showed new recruits Luke Brooks and Jaxson Paulo being put through their paces ahead of the 2024 season.

Brooks’ arrival will likely see Josh Schuster shift to the backrow, partnering Daly Cherry-Evans in the halves.

Broncos recruit Fletcher Baker has opened up on his decision to depart the Roosters ahead of a Las Vegas showdown against hs former club.

The 23-year-old is Brisbane’s only recruit ahead of the 2024 season, making the move after playing 46 games for the Tricolours.

Baker has big shoes to fill in the middle forwards, with both Tom Flegler and Keenan Palasia departing for the Dolphins and Titans respectively.

He also signed prior to the Broncos’ stunning charge and watched on as Kevin Walters men came desperately close to lifting the premiership trophy.

“I played the cards right, didn’t I?” Baker joked to reporters.

“The Roosters at the start of this year were in a rough spot and ‘Robbo’ (Roosters coach Trent Robinson) turned that ship around massively. These boys did the same thing.
