Shane Flanagan has made his latest signing as St. George Illawarra Dragons head coach, bringing in former Melbourne Storm forward Tom Eisenhuth on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old has joined the Dragons effective immediately for the 2024 NRL season.
Eisenhuth was a relatively late-bloomer in the NRL but has established himself as a reliable forward after five seasons with the Storm.
He made his first-grade debut in 2012 for the Penrith Panthers before not playing another NRL game for 2,398 days.
He then spent the majority of his time in reserve grade and was also sidelined for a period with a larynx fracture.
A move to Melbourne in 2019 re-sparked his career though, making 58 appearances for Craig Bellamy’s side.
New Dragons coach Flanagan believes Eisenhuth’s attitude and versatility will benefit the Dragons.
“Tom will be a strong cultural fit for what we are building here and comes to us from a professional system in the Storm,” he said.
“His experience and ability to play both front and back row will make him a valuable addition to the squad.”
The Dragons have confirmed three players – Shenai Lendill, Sara Sautia and Sophie Clancy – have all agreed contract extensions that will keep them at the club until the end of the 2025 season.
