Despite links to Arne Slot and Julian Nagelsmann, Ange Postecoglou eventually arrived from Celtic as an unknown entity to most.
From his first few interviews in the role, the Australian spoke well and delivered a clear vision of how his front foot attacking style of play and in pre-season there were glimpses of that coming into affect.

In the weeks following Spurs have lost back-to-back games 2-1 to Wolves and Aston Villa, respectively, with that run of defeats highly unlikely to end this weekend as they travel to face Manchester City. Nonetheless, even without the creativity of Maddison, Spurs created enough chances against Aston Villa and Postecoglou will be hoping that can continue in the final weeks of 2023.
