The New Orleans Saints injury report from Thursday had no differences from Wednesday’s. Defensive end Cameron Jordan remains absent from practice with an ankle injury. Wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are also dealing with injuries that can jeopardize their availability for Sunday’s matchup with the Detroit Lions.
The Detroit Lions’ offensive line has been hit with plenty of injuries throughout the 2023 season.
Most recently, offensive guard Jonah Jackson has missed the last two games with a wrist injury. Dating back to Week 6, Jackson has missed all but one game. The Lions missed his presence against Green Bay in Week 12, allowing three sacks in a 29-22 loss.
Jackson was a full participant Thursday, and could return against New Orleans in Week 13. Frank Ragnow, meanwhile, did not participate in Thursday’s practice.
Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is hoping for a bounce-back game from the offensive line, which would be aided by a potential return by Jackson.
“I know our guys, they’re gonna respond really well. It was not the best game up front that we’ve had, really in the last year in a half, it’d be on the bottom end of that.
They know that,” Johnson said. “Really, it showed up more, I think, on critical situations. Some of those fourth downs, Jared’s getting hit, third downs Jared’s getting hit.
Clearly, we don’t want any of that. We’re gonna clean that up, up front. Gotta give a lot of credit to Green Bay. They had a great plan on a short week, and they had a high intensity going into the game, as well, that we never really found our footing and got on a roll.
Credit goes to them on that, and listen, great learning opportunity for us. We’ve got to have our best stuff each and every week.”
