The Detroit Lions fanbase is understandably unsettled by the recent play of the defense.
Despite no real signs that Ndamukong Suh would want to return to Motown, fans are clamoring online for general manager Brad Holmes to reach out and bring the former No. 2 overall pick back.
It is believed by those close to Suh the 36-year-old would consider making a return and signing with a team that is a serious contender to win the Super Bowl.
Despite the strong online push by supporters, there are no indications Suh is considering a return to Detroit, as the Eagles are the team considered a frontrunner to land his services.
Moving forward, the team will be without Alim McNeill, who was placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a sprained knee.
Holmes has recently added two defensive linemen with a combined age of 72 to the roster.
Bruce Irvin, 36, showcased that he still has the ability to rush the quarterback on a team that is desperately seeking increased sacks.
“I came in this league with a chip on my shoulder and I always felt like, with my 12 years, I never got the respect that I was due,” Irvin expressed postgame, following Detroit’s 33-28 victory against the Saints. “So to me, I just have to keep proving it, keep proving it.
“Every opportunity I get, I’m going to keep proving them wrong, but proving myself right. So, it’s just something in me, man. It’s just keeping that edge. It made me work harder and continue to push forward.”
Veteran Tyson Alualu was also recently added to the team’s practice squad.
