The South O’Brien boys basketball team took three wins this past week, first a 66-42 road win at Hinton on Friday, a 72-51 road win at Westwood on Saturday and a 78-22 home win over Trinity Christian on Tuesday.
On Friday the Wolverines jumped out to a 19-11 lead at the end of the first quarter that they extended to 38-16 at halftime.
After the break they scored 14 points to the Blackhawks seven for a 52-23 margin heading into the final frame where the Blackhawks scored 19, but the Wolverines put up 14 to secure the win at 66-42.

Against Westwood on Saturday, The Wolverines took a close 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter but jumped out to lead 39-25 at halftime. They maintained their lead at 57-40 at the end of the third quarter before they took the 72-51 victory.
The Wolverines made 29-of-58 shots, 50 percent, eight of 20 threes, 40 percent, and six of eight free throws, 75 percent. They had 39 rebounds, 18 assists, seven steals and four blocks.
Paulsen led three Wolverines in double-digit scoring with 20 points, while Conley had 15 and Bottjen had 14.
Bottjen had a double-double by also pulling down 10 rebounds while senior Ben Woodall had eight rebounds and seven assists. Junior Caden Wittrock had three steals and Frerk blocked two shots.
On Tuesday the Wolverines jumped out to a 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter they put up 21 and shutout the Tigers to lead 36-6 at halftime. They went on a 30-0 run between the first and second quarter.
After the break they scored another 21 points while the Tigers found nine for a 57-15 lead heading into the final frame where the Wolverines again scored 21 points and held the Tigers to seven for the 78-22 final. Paulsen led South O’Brien with 24 points while Conley followed with 22.
The Wolverines rise to 5-0 and will travel to face 4-1 George-Little Rock on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before a 2:30 p.m. Saturday home game against 1-4 Sheldon.
