The Los Angeles Rams shared some unexpected injury news on Saturday afternoon, one day before their matchup with the Washington Commanders. The team announced Aaron Donald has been added to the injury report due to tightness in his groin.
He’s officially questionable to play against Washington on Sunday, so his status is one to monitor before kickoff. Donald was not on the injury report this week except for his rest day on Friday, which is typical for the veteran defensive tackle.
Last season was the first time Donald missed a game due to injury, so he’s as tough as they come. Hopefully for the Rams, he’s able to suit up, but Los Angeles won’t put him at further risk of injury if he’s not 100%..
Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. was ruled out on Friday due to a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury on Dec. 3 against the Miami Dolphins and was unable to practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Defensive end James Smith-Williams is also out with a hamstring injury. Tight end Curtis Hodges was placed on the Injured Reserve due to a back injury.
Rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes will be active against the Rams. Forbes, who practiced fully throughout the week, had missed Washington’s last two games due to an elbow injury.
Washington will get a boost on the offensive line with the return of Saahdiq Charles. He was activated off of the Injured Reserve after missing six games with a calf injury.
The Commanders (4-9) face the Rams (6-7) at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
