The 2023 season didn’t end the way Nebraska football fans wanted, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t reason for optimism for 2024.
Right at the top of the list of reasons why Nebraska Cornhuskers fans should be excited is how many players are coming back.
Earlier this week, Blackshirt Isaac Gifford and offensive lineman Bryce Benhart released a dual announcement of their return.
Not long after, linebacker John Bullock took to social media to make it clear that he too, is coming back to play for Tony White, Matt Rhule and the rest of the squad.
His return to the Nebraska Cornhuskers is especially good news considering that Bullock is coming off a breakout 2023 season where he surged to the top of the inside linebacker rotation as the campaign rolled on.
He started 10 of 12 games and ranked fourth on the team with a career-high 50 tackles.
Bullock was also considered a team leader right from the start of the season. He was one of the few players that was granted the ability to wear a single-digit jersey.
Now Bullock will return in 2024 for a Nebraska Cornhuskers team that will be expecting a “bowl or bust” ending to next year.
