Washington Commanders

good news from Washington Commanders…

Rivera stated that Howell is still the guy, but Howell himself stated that those conversations have yet to take place.

“Honestly, we haven’t even spoken about it,” Howell said. “But yeah, I mean, just going try to keep doing what I can and taking it one day at a time and keep trying to be the best player I can for this team.”

In the last four weeks, the Commanders’ offense has failed to score more than 20 points as things have stagnated. They also have nine turnovers during that span as things simply aren’t clicking.

With Howell throwing for only 127 and 102 yards in his last two games, things are going south fast, but why?

“I mean obviously, it’s hard to say and if we knew what the issue was, we’d fix it,” Howell said. “But I think what it comes down to is we just got to execute better and that starts with me. So it’s been an unfortunate couple weeks. Obviously wish we could go back and do it again, but reality is we can’t and all we can control is how we move on from this point and how we finish the year.”

The Commanders have three games remaining in their season and while the year thus far overall has been disappointing, they have a chance to salvage something from it.

But it won’t be easy as the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and the Dallas Cowboys remain.

So, while there are still many questions surrounding the Washington organization, perhaps none bigger than who will be the starting quarterback going forward.
