MINNEAPOLIS – It’s been an eventful few days for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.On Thursday night, Cousins showed the world that his Achilles tendon was regaining some mobility as he danced in an NFL Honors segment. Cousins and New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan danced to Ginuwine’s 1996 hit “Pony.”The dance sparked many reactions on social networks. It’s also worth noting that Jordan criticized Cousins’ quarterback play last summer, saying Cousins made “slow, fair decisions.” Then, just hours after lighting up the stage in Las Vegas, Cousins joined CBS Mornings Friday to talk about the Super Bowl, airing Sunday on CBS and Paramount+. Cousins initially said he often watched CBS Mornings and CBS Sunday Morning during his brain training.“It’s also fun because it takes my mind off the hustle and bustle of football,” Cousins said.Cousins expects the Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers to be a close and competitive game.“It’s a great match and you can feel the greatness of it. “You feel every moment that this play, this penalty, this catch, this fall could be the difference between winning a World Cup – or winning at home,” Cousins said. Cousins praised both quarterbacks, including 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.“If I was him as a sophomore, I’d be pretty overwhelmed,” Cousins said. “He has shown composure under pressure over the last two years. He played in a lot of big games.As for his Super Bowl prediction, Cousins says he’ll go with 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, who he played for during his first two years in the NFL. He doesn’t have a ring yet. He deserves one. He’s probably the best coach in football,” Cousins said.Cousins predicts a final score of 28-27, with the 49ers winning. The last time the 49ers won a Super Bowl was in 1994.He also gave an idea of his future, saying that he wants to play for another two or three years, and his children are one of the main reasons for this.“When my career started, I looked at my wife and said, ‘I have to play long enough for them to remember me playing.’ Now they’re 6 and 4,” he said. Cousins is not under contract with the Vikings next season and could move to another team when free agency begins in the spring. He has repeatedly expressed his desire to remain in Minnesota.
