A VERY GOOD NEWS FROM DETROIT TIGERS TODAY…….

The Tigers are coming off a series win against the Minnesota Twins. On Sunday the pitching gave up only one run and they ended up winning 6-1. Spencer Torkelson had a strong game finishing with two hits and two RBIs. The Tigers are averaging 3.86 runs while their pitching is giving up 3.81 runs per game. In this game the pitching is going to need to be good. Getting the start for the Tigers will be Tarik Skubal who sits with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 2.28. In his last start against the Rangers he went 6.1 innings giving up five hits and four runs.
The Rays were competitive on Sunday against the New York Yankees but they ended up falling just short. The Rays are averaging 4.04 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.83 runs per game. The offense is ranked 20th while the pitching is ranked 24th. Isaac Paredes has hit five home runs and driven in 14 RBIs. Getting the start for the Rays will be Zach Littell who sits with a 1-0 record and an ERA of 2.14. In his last start against the Angels he went 5.2 innings giving up eight hits and three runs.
Tarik Skubal has been strong overall this season and he’s going to continue that success here. Zach Littell hasn’t been awful this season but in his last start, he did give up three runs. This might not be a game where the Tigers score seven or eight runs but they are going to score three or four and that is going to be enough for them to get the job done. Back the Tigers on the money line.
The Rays couldn’t make up any ground in the AL East over the weekend after losing a three-game series to the Yankees. They are back at home where they have won two of their last three games and will try to keep the momentum going with a win on Monday.
Tampa Bay is averaging 4.05 runs per game. Their .248 batting average is 12th in the league. Their .308 on base percentage is 20th, while their .364 slugging percentage is 22nd.
