West Ham are well prepared for this – West Ham vs Burnley…

West Ham look to extend Burnley’s miserable home record as the two teams meet at Turf Moor on Saturday. Vincent Kompany‘s side were superb in the Championship last season but it has been a painful return to the Premier League, with Burnley bottom of the table with just four points from their opening 12 matches.

Josh Cullen did not return to the Burnley side against Arsenal despite being available after suspension, and it remains to be seen whether Kompany opts to bring him back into midfield this time. Hjalmar Ekdal and Manuel Benson could feature but Arijanet Muric and Jack Cork are expected to miss out.

Lyle Foster is taking time away from football after it was announced earlier this month that the striker was receiving treatment for his mental health.

West Ham will be without Michail Antonio, but his injury is not as bad as first feared. The striker suffered medial knee ligament damage while playing for Jamaica during the international break, raising the possibility he could be on the sidelines well into 2024, but Antonio is expected to only miss a few weeks.

Burnley’s home record is woeful, but the run of defeats has included matches against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

West Ham have not been convincing themselves in recent weeks, conceding four goals away to Villa and three on the road against Brentford, and the hosts will view this as an opportunity to get off the mark at Turf Moor.
