SAD NEWS: Nico Iamaleava has Departed From Tennessee Volunteers Today

The Tennessee Volunteers are focused on the 2025 class and getting talented prospects in the boat, but as we know, they’ve prided themselves on establishing early connections with national recruits.

Those early relationships and investments have yielded dividends over time, so the months immediately following early national signing day give us some idea of who this coaching staff likes in upcoming years.

It’s a little early to be thinking about the class of 2027, but such is the nature of college football.

Tennessee offered Jackson High School running back Ezavier Crowell on January 19, becoming the twelfth program to join his offer sheet after an impressive freshman campaign.

Shortly after announcing his Tennessee offer, Crowell scheduled his first trip to Rocky Top for February 3.

He will be accompanied by his teammate, 2026 defensive back Jamarrion Gordon, who the Vols have also offered.

The Vols also brought in Jackson High School quarterback Landon Duckworth for an unofficial visit last offseason, though they didn’t offer the South Carolina commit.

Crowell was a Max-Preps Freshman All-American after totaling 1,949 all-purpose yards and 29 touchdowns on 10.3 yards per carry.

Jackson went 11-1 and lost to Booker T. Washington High School in the 4A Alabama state playoffs quarterfinals.

Crowell has drawn offers from Auburn, Georgia, Marshall, Miami, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, and USC over the past few months.

He’s tripped to Auburn, Georgia, and Ole Miss thus far, and Tennessee will join that list next weekend.
