Sources told Football Insider that Everton determined to give defender Jarrad Branthwaite a new contract.
The 21-year-old has joined the team in recent weeks and has forged a strong partnership with James Tarkowski at the heart of the Toffees’ defence.
Branthwaite has been a revelation for cash-strapped Everton following his experienced loan move to PSV Eindhoven for the 2022-23 campaign.

The 21-year-old has joined the team in recent weeks and has forged a strong partnership with James Tarkowski at the heart of the Toffees’ defence. Branthwaite has been a revelation for cash-strapped Everton following his experienced loan move to PSV Eindhoven for the 2022-23 campaign.
He earns a salary of £15,000 per week on his current contract.
The 6ft 5in defender has started each of Everton’s last four Premier League matches and impressed as Sean Dyche’s side claimed their first win at Brentford last week (September 23).
He also started when the Toffees beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the League Cup on Wednesday 27 September.
Branthwaite, a product of the Carlisle United academy, played his first full season for PSV last term. He scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 37 appearances helping them win the Dutch Cup.
Everton will face struggling Luton Town on Saturday September 30.
The Toffees took four points from a possible 18 in the Premier League this season.
Elsewhere, Everton has reached an agreement with the Portsmouth player.
