According to TEAMtalk, the Toffees have placed the head coach of AZ Alkmaar at the top of their shortlist.
Jansen, who was born in London, has spent the majority of his coaching career in the Netherlands, where he grew up. The 50-year-old has previously played for Vitesse, Sparta Rotterdam, and PSV before joining AZ in 2018.
Jansen, who started out as a coach, was elevated to manager in December 2020 and has been impressing ever since.
Last season, Jansen led AZ to the Europa Conference League semi-finals until they were eliminated by eventual winners West Ham.
They have continued where they left off last season, and are now level on points with PSV at the top of the Eredivisie, trailing only on goal difference. The Dutch club had five wins from their first five games.
This season, could Everton replace Dyche with Pascal Jansen?
Everton are apparently one of several clubs interested in bringing Jansen in to replace Dyche, however no official actions have been made to sack the former Burnley manager.
The Toffees aren’t the only club interested in Jansen; Crystal Palace and Rangers are also keeping tabs on his progress. West Ham were also interested in Jansen before deciding to maintain David Moyes after their European success.
Everton do not appear to be eager to fire Dyche at the time. However, once their control is complete, everything could alter.
Everton supporters should keep an eye on AZ’s results in the coming months, as things could alter once 777 Partners arrive. It will also be crucial to see if Dyche can exploit their victory over Brentford to turn things around on Merseyside.
