Brighton & Hove Albion are said to be open to bids for star winger Kaoru Mitoma even if he signs a new long-term contract.
The 26-year-old is thought to have accepted a new five-year contract with the Seagulls, despite interest from a number of big Premier League and European clubs.
Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly considering a January deal for Mitoma, while Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are also rumored to be interested.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among many others believed to be keeping an eye on Mitoma, who has established himself as a key player at Brighton since manager Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival just over twelve months ago.
Mitomawas an integral member of the Seagulls team that finished sixth in the Premier League last season and qualified for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history, with ten goals and eight assists in 41 games across all competitions.
Since then, the Japan international has impressed at the start of the new season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 11 appearances.
He won the Premier League Goal of the Month award in August with his goal in a 4–1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mitomais said to be fully committed to the Brighton project under De Zerbi and will receive a significant pay rise with his proposed new contract.
Thewinger is set to become the seventh senior player to extend his contract at Brighton this year, following Lewis Dunk, Jason Steele, Solly March, Adam Lallana, Evan Ferguson, Joel Veltman and Jeremy Sarmiento.
Nonetheless, Football Insider reports that the Seagulls will consider offers for Mitoma and would be happy to let him leave if their value for the player is met.
Thereport adds that Brighton currently value the winger at around £70m and are reportedly looking to make a huge profit on the player, who they acquired from Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale in August 2021 for just £2.5m .
