In a recent report, Sport stated that Brighton and Hove Albion have been offered a chance to sign Ansu Fati permanently from Barcelona. It has been claimed that the Seagulls have been given an opportunity to make the Spanish winger’s loan stay permanent next year.
Fati joined the English club on loan from Barcelona earlier this summer and has managed to catch the eye at times in the Premier League. The Spanish prospect has scored one goal in seven matches for Brighton thus far across all fronts.
The 20-year-old has made all of his appearances as a substitute which explains why he is only averaging 2.0 shots and 0.3 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on pass completion rate of 97.4% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Fati is yet to break out as a first-team starter at the American Express Community Stadium. Thus, it is unclear whether Brighton are willing to bring him on board permanently in 2024.
Brighton Have Been Offered A Chance To Sign Fati Permanently: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Fati can use his quickness to get in behind the opponent’s backline at every chance he gets. He can even engineer some promising chances for his teammates from the wide areas and is a good finisher in front of the opposition goal. However, the Spanish sensation is still quite raw and would need more time to prove his worth consistently at the highest level.
Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi is more than capable of unlocking the best out of the gifted wing wizard. Therefore, it seems logical for the Seagulls to weigh the possibility of making Fati’s loan spell permanent next year.
At 20, the Bissau-born attacker has the potential to become a success story at the Amex Stadium in the long run. Hence, signing Fati permanently could be a good move for both the player and the English club as they try to build towards a successful future under the stewardship of de Zerbi.
